Joe Serio has extensive work experience in the mental health field. Joe is currently serving as the Chief Clinical Quality Officer at Compass Health Center, where they previously held the position of Chief Clinical Officer. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Program Quality and Compliance and the Director of OCD and Complex Anxiety Disorders Programs at the same organization. Before joining Compass Health Center, Joe worked as the Director of Clinical Services at Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System. Joe started their career at Kenneth Young Center, where they were the Manager of Child/Adolescent Services for seven years. Their work experience also includes being a Clinical Supervisor at The Bridge Youth and Family Services.
Joe Serio (he/him/his) earned their Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Illinois State University in 1990. Joe then pursued their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Cognitive Developmental Psychology from Northern Illinois University from 1993 to 1996. Following that, they obtained a MSEd in Counseling from Northern Illinois University from 1996 to 2000. In 2000, Joe Serio also received a certification as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor from the State of Illinois. In 2021, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from the Six Sigma Global Institute.
