Yu Liu MD, PhD, MBA has worked in a variety of roles since 2003. Starting in 2003, they were a Staff Hospitalist at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and a Hospitalist Per Diem at Massachusetts General Hospital. In 2004, they joined Amgen as a Clinical Research Director and Director. In 2005, they were a Hospitalist Per Diem at Kaiser Permanente. In 2008, they were the VP of Clinical Development at Essentialis Therapeutics Inc. From 2010 to 2015, they worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb in various roles, including Vice President Oncology Business Unit, Executive Medical Director, Senior Country Medical Director, and Director Global Clinical Research Immunoscience. In 2015, they became the Senior Medical Director Cell and Gene Therapy Orphan Diseases at Biogen. In 2017, they were the Vice President, Head of Clinical, Early Clinical Development at Pfizer. In 2018, they were the Chief Medical Officer at Compass Therapeutics Inc. Since 2019, they have been the Vice President, Oncology Early Development at Bristol Myers Squibb.

Yu Liu MD, PhD, MBA obtained their MD, PhD from Boston University School of Medicine from 1994 to 2001, studying Medicine, Immunology, and Microbiology. From 2001 to 2004, they completed a residency training program at Harvard Medical School and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Yu also obtained an MBA from UMass Boston from 1998 to 2000, studying Finance.
