Dr. Derren A. Thompson

Dr. Derren A. Thompson, Sr. serves as a DEI&J Executive Team member at Compass Group USA since April 2022. Prior to this role, Dr. Thompson had a long tenure at Sodexo from 1995 to April 2022, where responsibilities included senior management in diversity recruitment, leading college recruitment strategies, and managing external college relationships. Additionally, Dr. Thompson was an Adjunct Professor at Morgan State University from January 2012 to December 2014, teaching courses in hospitality. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Ministry in Redemptive Leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, a Master’s Degree in Theology from Virginia Union University, and dual BS degrees in Hotel Restaurant Management from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
