Thupten Jinpa serves as Chair and President of the Compassion Institute since January 2017 and has been Chairman of The Mind and Life Institute since January 2011, where a significant contribution includes acting as the principal translator for the Dalai Lama during dialogues with scientists and scholars. Jinpa is an Adjunct Professor at McGill University, supervising graduate students in classical Indian Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan studies, and is the President and Founder of the Institute of Tibetan Classics, overseeing the creation of THE LIBRARY OF TIBETAN CLASSICS series. Jinpa also played a key role as Visiting Scholar at CCARE, Stanford University, contributing to the development of Compassion Cultivation Training, and previously served as a Research Fellow at Girton College, University of Cambridge, and a lecturer at Sharste College, Ganden Monastery. Jinpa holds a PhD in Religious Studies and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, along with a Geshe Lharam degree in Buddhist Philosophy, Psychology, and Religion from Shartse College, Ganden Monastic University.
