Shaun Barnes has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Shaun began their career at Sharon Luggage in 2000 as a Floor Supervisor and Product Specialist, working there until 2002. In 2004, they joined Georgia DFCS as a Case Manager/Intake Specialist, staying until 2006. Since then, Barnes has held various positions at Comporium, starting as a Cable TV Technician from 2006 to 2008. Shaun then transitioned to a Regulatory Analyst role from 2008 to 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they served as the Manager of Community and Economic Development, responsible for supporting economic development activities and maintaining relationships with local government officials. Barnes then took on the role of Director of External Relations at Comporium from 2016 to 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Corporate Communications at Comporium since 2019, where they are responsible for the overall strategy of corporate public/media relations and external communications, as well as managing CN2 for content, strategy, and profitability.

Shaun Barnes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Clemson University, which was obtained from 2002 to 2004. In addition, Shaun completed a college transfer program at York Technical College from 2001 to 2002. Shaun also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Winthrop University, earned between 2018 and 2020. Moreover, Shaun has obtained a certification from the SCEDA Institute, an institution affiliated with the South Carolina Economic Developers' Association, in the year 2015.
