Teresa O'Malley Sears

Teresa O'Malley Sears has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Teresa currently holds the position of VP, Certification Product Management at CompTIA, a role they have been in since January 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Certification Product Management at CompTIA from October 2017 to January 2022.

Before their roles at CompTIA, Teresa worked as a Product Manager at the same company from May 2014 to October 2017. In this role, they analyzed market and competitive conditions impacting IT certification products and managed the lifecycle of their portfolio of CompTIA credentialing solutions. Teresa also obtained industry endorsements, trained sales teams, provided strategic direction, and project managed cross-functional certification launch teams.

Prior to their time at CompTIA, Teresa held the position of Director of Member Education at CompTIA from February 2010 to April 2014. During their tenure, they developed the IT channel training program, expanding it from a single program to over three dozen programs serving hundreds of members each year.

Before joining CompTIA, Teresa worked at CCIM Institute as the Director of Curriculum Development from October 2005 to February 2010. In this role, they led the redesign of the CCIM designation education program and managed the implementation of the Institute's first learning management system. Teresa also served as a Senior Instructional Designer at CCIM Institute from July 2002 to October 2005, where they created faculty training and supported the curriculum evaluation process.

Teresa's earliest work experience was as an Instructional Designer at Rockwell, Click Commerce, and University of Chicago Hospitals from June 1999 to July 2002.

Teresa O'Malley Sears holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Arts in Adult and Continuing Education Administration from the University of Michigan. Teresa has also obtained a certification in CompTIA IT Fundamentals from CompTIA in the year 2014.
