Hansen Hsu began their work experience in 1999 as a Mac OS 9 File Systems Engineer for Apple Computer, Inc. Hansen then transitioned to a role as a Cocoa QA Engineer, where they were responsible for quality assurance, testing, and integration of the Cocoa framework. Hsu also worked on bug triage, filing, and verification, as well as writing and running UI test scripts.
In 2011, Hsu joined Big Nerd Ranch, Inc. as a Software Engineer/Intern, where they developed iOS apps and implemented various features, such as LDAP support and Core Data migration.
Hsu later became a Graduate Student at Cornell University in 2007, pursuing a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies.
Most recently, Hsu has been working at the Computer History Museum as a Curator for the Software History Center. In this role, they have been actively collecting software history materials, developing content for exhibits and programs, and conducting research for museum publications.
Hansen Hsu earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. Hansen completed their undergraduate studies from 1995 to 1999. Hsu later pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in History from an undisclosed institution from 2005 to 2007. Hsu then went on to complete a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies, but the institution where they pursued their doctoral studies is not specified. Hansen completed their Ph.D. program from 2007 to 2015.
