Hengshu Zhu

Hengshu Zhu is a distinguished academic and industry leader currently serving as a Full Professor and Head of Data Intelligence for the Scientific Innovation Lab at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In addition to these roles, Hengshu holds positions as a Guest Professor at the Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an Adjunct Professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). Computer Network Information Center (CNIC), CAS

On April 20, 1994, a 64Kbps international dedicated line to the Internet was opened at Computer Network Information Center (CNIC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and China has since then achieved full-functional connection to the Internet and become the 77th country on the Internet on a permanent basis. On May 24, 1994, the first root server of the .cn national domain name was established in China. The State Science and Technology Commission formally approved the establishment of CNIC in March, 1995.
