Julie Laurence is a seasoned professional in social work and nonprofit leadership with extensive experience in program development and community services. Currently serving as Senior Assistant Vice President at Comunilife, Inc. since August 2019, Laurence has been instrumental in initiatives such as the Life is Precious™ Latina Girls Suicide Prevention program. Prior to this role, Laurence was the Chief Program Officer at GEMS Girls Educational & Mentoring Services from 2004 to October 2018, focusing on empowering young women affected by commercial sexual exploitation. Additional positions include Program Director and Clinical Director at Make the Road New York, Family Therapist at Women In Need, Licensed Social Worker at the Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES), and Director of Social Services at Grand Street Settlement. Laurence holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Hunter College and completed a Senior Executive Non-Profit Leadership program at Columbia Business School, along with other relevant certifications and degrees.
