Carey Bartell

Carey Bartell is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Conagra Brands. In this role, Carey oversees all legal and governmental affairs activity for the company. Previously, Carey served as vice president and chief counsel leading the company’s litigation efforts and compliance programs. She joined Conagra Brands in 2016.

Prior to Conagra Brands, Carey worked for eight years at Hospira, Inc., a global pharmaceutical and medical device company, as senior counsel and then vice president, legal. In this role she oversaw the company’s litigation, labor, employment, and immigration law, and advised senior management and the board of directors regarding diverse legal and business risks. Carey began her career in private practice at a Chicago law firm, first as an associate and then partner, where she practiced primarily in the areas of litigation and labor & employment law.

Carey graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, and received a Bachelor of Arts with high honors from Wesleyan University.
