Simon Damgaard

Simon Damgaard has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Simon is currently working as the Director of Engineering at Concordium since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Area Engineering Manager at Vipps MobilePay, where they headed the engineering of the Payments & Processing area for over a year. Simon managed a team of Engineering Managers and oversaw the services provided to 11 million users and 400,000 shops across the Nordics.

Before their role at Vipps MobilePay, Simon worked at MobilePay as a Squad Lead, managing two squads in the Payments family. Simon played a crucial role in facilitating various payment methods used by MobilePay's users. Simon worked with three squads before partnering with a co-conspirator to share the responsibilities.

From 2011 to 2020, Simon worked at Danske Bank in various roles. Simon served as a Development Manager for the Investment Core department, where they were responsible for the operation and development of the system portfolio. Simon also served as a Development Manager for the Listed Derivatives Execution department, contributing to the transformation of the IT system landscape. Additionally, Simon worked as a Project Manager in the Cash Management IT department and as a Senior Software Engineer in the Card Systems department, where they played a key role in the development of MobilePay and received recognition for their contributions.
