Christy Bertrand

Christy Bertrand has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Christy is currently working as a Community Connector at the Region of Waterloo since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Conestoga College in various roles including Employment, Career & Customer Service Liaison and Customer Service Liaison from 2014 to 2021. Christy also worked as a Bartender at the Stratford Festival in 2022 and as a Co-Owner at Beneficial Goods from 2021 to 2022. Additionally, they worked as a Membership Desk Staff at the YMCA of Three Rivers from 2019 to 2020, as an Election Clerk at the City of Stratford in 2018, and as a Co Executive Producer at Ladies of the CNR in 2017. Christy's work experience also includes their role as a Membership Liaison & Event Co-ordinator for the Stratford City Centre BIA at the City of Stratford from 2013 to 2015. Christy started their career at The Stratford Gazette - Metroland Media Group in 2008, where they worked as a Real Estate Account Representative. Christy also served as a Grant Program Judge at Studentawards Inc. from 2010 to 2013.

Christy Bertrand's education history includes a brief period of study at Conestoga College in 2021, where they focused on Personality Psychology. Prior to that, they attended Mohawk College from 1998 to 2000, studying Graphic Arts Technology & Management. In addition to their formal education, Christy has obtained several certifications. These include completing "The Path - Your Journey through Indigenous Canada" program offered by NVision Insight Group Inc. in June 2023. In 2020, they completed the "Leading at a Distance" course from LinkedIn and in 2019, they attended the "Strategic Resume Development Workshop" conducted by Career Professionals of Canada. Some of their other certifications include "Smart Serve" from Smart Serve Ontario in 2018, "Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification" (Part 1) from Occupational Safety Group Inc. in 2017, "Mental Health First Aid" from Mental Health First Aid Canada (MHFA) in 2017, and "Soft Skills Solutions Certified Instructor" from Simcoe Muskoka Workforce Development Board in 2016. Christy also completed training in "Suicide Alertness" offered by LivingWorks in 2014 and "Motivational Interviewing Training" provided by Empowering Change in the same year. Additionally, they hold a "Food Handler Certification" from Food Safety Training.ca, obtained in July 2018.
