Tom Kiernan

Tom Kiernan has a strong and diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Tom started their career at S-S Technologies/Brock Solutions as a Senior Designer and later became an Engineering Manager. During their time there, they created and managed a new hardware design department and led the development of industrial automation products.

Following their time at S-S Technologies/Brock Solutions, Tom joined Woodhead Software and Electronics/Molex as the Director of Network Product Engineering, North America. Tom directed multiple engineering teams and was responsible for designing communication hardware for industrial automation networks.

In 2007, Tom joined AMD as an Engineering Manager. Tom initially directed global design operations for the development and manufacture of hardware for AMD CPUs and later transitioned to the role of Senior Engineering Manager, leading the global hardware design operations for the development of graphics cards used in PCs, workstations, and servers.

Their most recent position was at Conestoga College, where they worked as the Manager of Technology Enablement & Delivery. In this role, Tom oversaw the IT technical staff team and the IT project team, ensuring the support and maintenance of the college technology base and managing capital construction projects. Tom also researched, developed, and deployed new technologies to enhance academic delivery and improve technology reliability.

Throughout their career, Tom has demonstrated their expertise in managing teams, coordinating programs, and overseeing all stages of product development.

From 1989 to 1992, Tom Kiernan attended Conestoga College in Kitchener, ON. Tom pursued a Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma during this time.
