Nathan R. G. Barnett is an experienced professional in advocacy research and education, currently serving as the Advocacy Research Coordinator at Conestoga Students Inc. since April 2023. Previously, Nathan held roles such as Graduate Teaching Assistant at Wilfrid Laurier University, where responsibilities included conducting tutorials and grading for political science courses, and was a member of the Thriving on Campus LGBTQ+ Student Success Disability Fact Sheet Working Group, focusing on the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ students with disabilities. Nathan has also worked as a Summer Experience Student/Research Analyst for the Ontario Ministry of Infrastructure and as Program Coordinator for the Totally OUTright program at the AIDS Committee of Durham Region, promoting LGBTQ+ youth education. Other positions include Vice President of University Affairs at Trent Durham Student Association and Health Promotions Coordinator at Trent University. Nathan is pursuing a PhD in Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University, following a Master’s degree in Applied Politics and a Bachelor of Social Work from Trent University.

Conestoga Students Inc. (CSI) was established in 1973 and is the official student association of Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, representing the voice of all Conestoga students. CSI is governed by a student board of directors and provides Conestoga students with services, events, resources, and advocacy initiatives to improve and support the student experience.
