Coney Island Prep
Hiba Hanoune is a dedicated STEM educator currently teaching at Coney Island Prep since August 2022, where responsibility includes designing data-driven lesson plans and promoting community engagement through leadership of the Middle Eastern and North African Affinity Group. Previously, Hiba was selected as a New York Corps Member with Teach For America, focusing on educational equity while pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching. Hiba has also served as an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow at Columbia University, mentoring first-generation, low-income high school students and facilitating discussions on social theory. Additionally, Hiba has gained experience as an Advocacy and Political Organizing Intern at Asiyah Women's Center and as a Youth Diversion Programs Intern at the Kings County District Attorney's Office, demonstrating strong research and project management skills. Hiba holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University and is working towards a Master’s degree at Relay Graduate School of Education.
