Carol Orenstein

SVP, Chief Strategy Officer at The Conference Board

Carol Orenstein is the SVP, Chief Strategy Officer and a member of the Executive Committee at The Conference Board. Her 20+ years of work experience has been focused on marketing, strategic planning, and launching new businesses or products. Additional roles prior to The Conference Board included CMO roles at both the Aresty Institute of Executive Education for the Wharton School and at RMA—The Risk Management Association; earlier in her career, Carol was a marketing manager for Campbell’s Tomato Juice and for Chunky Soup.

Carol’s strategic planning experience came early in her career, when she worked as an Associate at Booz, Allen and later as a Director of Strategic Planning at American Express. She applied this experience recently, leading The Conference Board strategic planning process with McKinsey. New product launches have included the early work on V8 Splash for Campbell Soup and launching an executive education business for The Fox School’s MBA/MS Division of Temple University.

Carol earned her BA from Harvard College, and her MBA from The Wharton School, where she majored in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management. She is very active in the community and holds board positions at EducationWorks and at Beth Am Israel. Previous board roles were with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern PA and the Gladwyne Montessori School.
