Stefan Lampaert

Stefan Lampaert's work experience includes being the Chief Technology Officer at Confocal.nl since September 2021. In this role, they lead a team of engineers, manages the technological roadmap of high-tech microscopes, and oversees the development of new technologies and products. Prior to this, they worked as a Development Manager at Confocal.nl, where they were responsible for the technical developments and technological roadmap of the company. Stefan was also the lead engineer for the NL5(+) confocal microscope. Before joining Confocal.nl, Stefan worked as an Optomechatronic Engineer at the same company and as a Project Manager at ProjectMask. Stefan also has experience as a PHD Student at TU Delft, where they focused on improving bearing and sealing systems using magnetic fluids. Additionally, they worked as a Student Assistant Machineshop at TU Delft during their academic years. Stefan has also worked as a Junior Design Engineer at Frames, a Draughtsman at Shannon Machines B.V., and held various engineering roles at Formula Student Team Delft. Stefan started their career as a Shop Assistant at Van Neerbos Bouwmarkten.

Stefan Lampaert has a strong educational background in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics, and tribology. Stefan began their academic journey at TU Delft, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in the period 2009-2013. Stefan then pursued a Master's Degree in the same field at the same institution from 2013 to 2015. Stefan Lampaert further advanced their knowledge and expertise by enrolling in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at TU Delft, specializing in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on precision engineering, mechatronics, and tribology. Stefan successfully completed their PhD studies in 2019.

In 2019, Stefan Lampaert dipped into other domains of knowledge. Stefan briefly explored finance at the University of Twente and engaged in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial studies at San Jose State University. Despite these additional experiences, no specific degree or certification was obtained in these fields.
