Stephen Allen

Stephen Allen has a diverse work experience spanning from 1997 to 2019. Stephen started their career at Rodney Fitch Associates, where they worked as a Designer creating point of sale and directional signage. Stephen then joined Marketplace Design as a Senior Designer before moving on to Mother as an Art Director, where they worked on projects for clients such as Boots, Unilever, Orange, and Coca Cola.

Stephen then worked as an Art Director at WCRS, primarily focusing on the Transport for London account. Stephen later joined One Point Oh as a Digital Creative Head, where they developed digital marketing campaigns for clients like Oxford Brookes University, National Trust, and Ecotricity.

In 2013, Stephen joined Nationwide Building Society as Deputy Creative Head of the Internal Creative Agency. During their tenure, they led the content digitization efforts for the retail environment and oversaw acquisition and retention campaigns. Stephen also played a key role in defining the NBS photographic style and managing internal and external creative teams.

Stephen then joined DWC Strategy and Innovation as a User Experience Design Manager, leading a team in creating product propositions and developing digital strategies. Stephen then moved to RAC, where they served as User Experience Design Manager and led a team of UX Designers, CRO Consultants, Visual Designers, and Content Editors.

Currently, Stephen works at Confused.com as the Head of Design. In this role, they are responsible for leading research and design efforts across all Confused.com channels and products, including product design, content, interface, SEO, and editorial content.

Stephen Allen completed a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design at Bath Spa University from 1991 to 1995. Prior to that, they obtained a Foundation Certificate in Graphic Design from Ravensbourne University London in 1990 and 1991. In addition to their academic education, Stephen Allen also obtained a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from Scrum Alliance in July 2021.
