Emerson National Hunger Fellow at Congressional Hunger Center

Katie Starr is an accomplished professional in the field of nutrition and health promotion, currently serving as an Emerson National Hunger Fellow at the Congressional Hunger Center since August 2018. Prior experience includes a role as a Communications and Marketing Intern at Impossible Foods and internships focused on nutrition and event planning at the Duke Diet and Fitness Center and Abundance NC in 2017. Additionally, Katie contributed as a Research Assistant at UNC Health Promotion Disease Prevention and gained insight into the ketogenic diet for children with epilepsy while shadowing a registered dietitian at UNC Health Care. Early experience includes a service leader internship at Freedom School Partners in 2015. Katie Starr earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018.
