Martin Geertsema has over 20 years of work experience, primarily in quality and regulatory roles within the medical device industry. Martin started their career as a Maintenance Engineer at Philips in 2001, where they were responsible for equipment performance and maintenance budgeting. Martin then moved into roles such as Reliability Engineer, Maintenance & Improvement Manager, and Industrial Engineer, where they focused on improving maintenance techniques, leading improvement projects, and increasing factory capacity and quality.

In 2014, Geertsema became the Director of Quality and Regulatory at Philips, overseeing quality and regulatory activities. Martin held this position until 2018 when they joined CONMED Corporation as the Director of Quality and Regulatory for the EMEA region. In 2021, they were promoted to Senior Director Quality and Regulatory International at CONMED Corporation, where they currently hold this role.

Throughout their career, Geertsema has demonstrated leadership abilities, project management skills, and expertise in Lean-Six Sigma methodologies.

Martin Geertsema has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam, which they obtained from 2011 to 2014. Martin also has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Maintenance and Safety Management from the University of Bradford, which they completed from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Maritiem Officier from HZ University of Applied Sciences, where they studied from 1995 to 1999.
