Jose Ruiz

Jose Ruiz has a diverse work experience in music and education. Jose has been self-employed as an artist, writer, and musician. Jose has also worked as a Teaching Artist at Miami Music Project since 2018. Prior to that, they were an Artist at Conn-Selmer, Inc. starting in 2011.

Jose has extensive experience as a freelance Trombonist, with 20 years of experience playing with various artists in different genres. Jose has also written and arranged music in multiple genres, and has teaching experience in both private and public sectors.

Previously, Jose worked as a Teaching Artist at Music and Arts from 2014 to 2016. Jose also served as a Music Teacher at Miami Dade Public Schools from 2004 to 2006, where they directed the school's string program and taught music to students.

Furthermore, Jose worked as a Band Director at Miami Dade County Public Schools from 2003 to 2004, where they taught beginning and concert bands and organized performances for various events.

Jose Ruiz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz Performance from Florida International University, where they attended from 1999 to 2003. Jose later pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Jazz Performance from the same university, attending from 2017 to 2019.
