John Pavia

Director at Connecticut Innovations

Although he started his career as an assistant district attorney in New York City, John Pavia has spent the past 18 years playing an integral role in a series of very public corporate turnarounds. He sits on several boards and is currently executive vice president of LogicSource, a Bain Capital Ventures portfolio company based in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Prior to joining LogicSource, Mr. Pavia was executive vice president and general counsel at FM Facility Maintenance, which he helped grow into the largest privately held maintenance provider in North America.

Mr. Pavia was also a member of the management group that acquired Moore Corporation and then executed a roll-up strategy that in 2005 led to their takeover of R. R. Donnelley & Sons. In the span of five years, the team grew the business from $500 million in top-line sales to $7.5 billion, creating the largest commercial printer in the world. During that period, Moore Corporation was named one of the Best Performing Stocks on the New York Stock Exchange for 2002. Mr. Pavia served as deputy general counsel and was responsible for supporting the company’s growth strategy.

Prior to his success at R. R. Donnelley, Mr. Pavia held the position of general counsel at Huon Corporation, a Warburg Pincus portfolio company based in London and Melbourne, Australia. Huon was also a turnaround project that culminated in a very successful sale of the company to TiG in 2000.
