Executive Vice President, Chief Internal Auditor at ConnectOne Bank

Mark Pappas has a strong background in internal audit and risk management. Mark currently holds the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Internal Auditor at ConnectOne Bank since January 2023. Prior to this, Mark worked at Alma Bank as the Director of Internal Audit from March 2022 to January 2023. Mark also has valuable experience at Amalgamated Bank, where they served as the Executive Vice President & Chief Risk Officer from May 2018 to February 2022. During their time there, they managed the Bank's Enterprise Risk Management program and played a crucial role in the successful acquisition of New Resource Bank. Before that, Mark worked at Morgan Stanley as the Executive Director - Internal Audit & Finance Risk from August 2004 to August 2015, where they developed and implemented the global firm-wide Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program. Additionally, they held the position of First Vice President & General Auditor - Americas at CALYON (Credit Agricole Indosuez) from 2002 to 2004, where they reorganized the Internal Audit Department and significantly improved the control and compliance environment.

Mark Pappas has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business. Mark also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting & Information Systems from Queens College. In addition to their degrees, they are a Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (obtained in 2023) from the American Bankers Association and a Certified Public Accountant (obtained year unknown) from the New York State Education Department.
