Principal Design Engineer at Connetics

Brian Campbell has over 30 years of work experience in the electrical engineering field. Brian started their career as an Electrician with Waitaki Electric Power Board in 1983 before pursuing opportunities abroad. After returning from England, they worked as a Site Electrician at Electrolux from 1995 to 2001. From 1991 to 1993, they worked as an Electrician (Installation and Maintenance) at Balfour Kilpatrick, specializing in work at Heathrow Airport Control Tower. In 2001, they joined Connetics as a Senior Design Engineer, responsible for electrical design of overhead lines and underground cable design. Brian also served as Chairman of the Health and Safety Committee. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as a Distribution Engineer at Delta Utility Services, involved in the rebuilding and maintenance of sub-transmission networks. Since 2017, they have been working at Connetics again, first as a Senior Design Engineer and currently as a Principal Design Engineer. Brian's experience includes working on various network rebuilding projects and gaining valuable skills and expertise.

Brian Campbell attended Waitaki Boys High School from 1977 to 1981, where they studied Physics, Chemistry, Economics, English, and Maths. Brian then attended Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of technology from 1996 to 2001, where they studied NZCE electrical. From 2004 to 2010, Brian attended QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and studied in the field of Electrical Supply Industry. In 2019, they obtained the certification CMEngNZ (Engineering Technologist) from Engineering New Zealand.
