Principal Design Engineer at Connetics

James Craib has a comprehensive work experience in engineering and project management. James is currently working at Connetics as a Principal Design Engineer, where they lead a team focused on Green Grids. Prior to this role, they held the same position at Connetics from January 2022 to October 2022.

Before joining Connetics, James worked at Mitton Electronet Ltd for over a decade. James started as an Assistant Engineer in January 2009 and gradually rose through the ranks, holding positions such as Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Project Director/Senior Engineer. In their most recent role at Mitton Electronet Ltd, they served as a Project Director/Principal Engineer, specializing in complex technical design for secondary systems in the power industry. James was responsible for the migration of substation systems from traditional SCADA to a modernistic IP networked solution.

James Craib attended St Bede's College from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained their High School NCEA Level 3. James then went on to study at the University of Canterbury from 2005 to 2008, where they earned their Bachelor of Engineering (BEHons) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In 2018, they obtained the certifications CPEng and CMEngNZ from Engineering New Zealand.
