Jonathan Paterson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the telecommunications and infrastructure sectors.
Jonathan began their career as an Environmental Engineer at Pattle Delamore Partners, where they managed capital works projects and led inter-office project teams. Jonathan later took on the role of Senior Environmental Engineer, focusing on stormwater and wastewater projects.
In 2014, Paterson joined Vocus Communications as a Senior Project Manager, overseeing the civil construction of fiber optic networks and providing commercial support for the establishment of the Connect 8 Joint Venture between Vocus and Spark NZ.
Following their time at Vocus, they joined Connect 8 Ltd as a Commercial Manager, supporting the CEO in the start-up of the joint venture and implementing the business plan.
Paterson then transitioned to Spark New Zealand, where they held multiple roles. As a Commercial Manager, they managed commercial negotiations for large-scale fiber network joint build projects. Jonathan later became a Senior Procurement Specialist, managing commercial relationships and providing support for strategic infrastructure projects. In their most recent role as a Chapter Lead, they led a team of Investment Managers focused on driving continuous improvement and supporting Spark's capital investments in networks and IT.
Currently, Paterson is a Business Development Manager at Connexa Limited, an independent mobile towers and infrastructure company in New Zealand. In this role, they are responsible for developing and implementing commercial frameworks to support the company's new business.
Jonathan Paterson attended the University of Auckland's Graduate School of Management from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained a PGDip in Business Administration. Prior to this, they pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Auckland's School of Engineering from 2000 to 2003, earning a BE in Environmental Engineering.
