Georgie Weedon has an extensive work experience spanning across various industries. Georgie is currently working as the Global Head of Communications and Content at Consensys since November 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Global Head of Communications at Signal AI from April 2020 to October 2023. In 2008, Weedon founded Gingerwink Media, where they worked as a communication specialist for clients in the blockchain, tech, and climate space, among others, until October 2023. Georgie co-founded Host of Ideas in 2015, an online platform connecting investors with entrepreneurs. From 2010 to 2012, Weedon worked as a Strategic Communications Consultant at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and also participated in the Climate Leadership Programme. Georgie served as the UN Broadcast and Digital Lead, Strategic Communications for the IPCC from February 2010 to December 2011. Weedon has contributed as a journalist for Nature Climate Change and held various roles at Al Jazeera Media Network, including Head of Documentary Acquisitions, Commissioning Editor, and Executive Producer. Georgie was also a co-founder and author at Offscreen. Additionally, they have served as an international judge at the International Documentary Festival in Poland.
Georgie Weedon's education history includes completing a Climate Leadership Programme at the University of Cambridge in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Image and Communication from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2004. Georgie also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry from Newcastle University, which they earned between 1999 and 2002. In 1999, they began their studies in Computer Science at Durham University, focusing on Java and C++, before continuing their education elsewhere.
