Lisa Famolare

Deputy Officer & VP, Nature for Climate at Conservation International

Lisa Famolare is the Vice President of Amazonia at Conservation International. Lisa has been with the company since May 1998 and in their current role since March 2009.

In their previous role as Vice President of the Guianas Regional Program, Lisa was responsible for strategy, program development, implementation and oversight of CI's programs in Suriname and Guyana. This included building a regional and global understanding of the importance of High Forest/Low Deforestation Countries, protected areas development, trust fund development, and development of economic alternatives to extractive industry.

Lisa's work at Conservation International has been instrumental in protecting the Amazon rainforest and the many species that call it home. Under their leadership, the Guianas Regional Program has become a model for other programs fighting deforestation in the Amazon.

Lisa Famolare has a BSc in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont. Lisa is currently pursuing an Environmental Science degree with a focus in tropical forest conservation and community development also from the University of Vermont.
