Mariela Perrone Reed is an experienced policy professional with a strong background in environmental law and policy. Currently serving as the Director of International Policy and Environmental Incentives at Conservation International since May 2019, Mariela has held multiple roles within the organization, advancing from Manager for Conservation Incentives Policy to Senior Manager. Prior to her work at Conservation International, Mariela was the Environmental Policy Director at Secretaría de Ambiente in Quito from February 2017 to May 2019. Mariela also gained experience as a Research and Policy Intern at the World Wildlife Fund in late 2015 and worked as an Associate Lawyer at Pérez Bustamante & Ponce from 2011 to 2015. Mariela holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Law and Policy from Stanford Law School and an Especialista en Liderazgo, Cambio Climático y Ciudades from the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, as well as a law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador.
