Matt Hiefield

Digital Equity Advisory Council Member at Consortium for School Networking

Matt Hiefield has a long history of working in education. Matt began their career in 1991 as a teacher and district curriculum developer at Sunset High School in the Beaverton School District. Matt then took on the role of International Baccalaureate Coordinator and Equity Team Member, where they were responsible for content and web page development. In 2018, they joined the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) as a Digital Equity Advisory Council Member, and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) as a Digital Equity PLN Leader. Currently, they are employed as a Digital Instructional Materials Coordinator at the Oregon Department of Education.

Matt Hiefield received their B.A. in History and French from Whitman College between 1983 and 1987. Matt then went on to earn their Masters of Arts in Teaching in Social Studies Teacher Education from Lewis & Clark College in 1991. In 2016, Matt obtained their Google Educator Level 1 certification from Google, followed by their Google Educator Level 2 certification in August of the same year. Finally, in May 2017, they obtained their Google Trainer certification.
