Garth Hankinson is Constellation’s executive vice president and chief financial officer reporting to Bill Newlands, president and CEO. He is responsible for corporate strategy, all aspects of finance and accounting, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, information technology and Constellation Ventures. Garth is a member of the executive management committee.
Garth joined Constellation in 2001 as manager of corporate development and progressed in roles as director and vice president of corporate development. He also held the role of vice president, business development of Vincor Canada, a previously owned operating company of Constellation Brands.
Prior to his appointment as CFO, Garth served as senior vice president, corporate development and financial planning and analysis, where he was responsible for the execution of the company’s inorganic growth initiatives, including identifying potential targets for merger, acquisition, joint venture, strategic partnership, or divestiture. In the role, he oversaw the company’s venture investment fund, allocating funds annually to high growth branded and non-branded opportunities within beverage alcohol and close adjacencies, specifically driving the company’s Focus on Female Founders initiative, a pledge to invest in female-founded or female-led companies. Garth also had responsibility for the company’s financial planning and analysis team, which included analysis and review of financial results and projections, as well as preparing reporting packages for executive management.
Before joining Constellation, Garth held roles in sales operations and business intelligence at Xerox Corporation. Garth also served as an auditor and analyst at Citicorp, Inc.
