Irina Apostolou

Irina Apostolou has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent position was at Constellation Pharmaceuticals, where they served as the Sr. Director and Head of Immuno-Oncology. In this role, they were responsible for advancing the early preclinical portfolio, building immunology platforms, and directing the research strategy and execution in the department.

Prior to their work at Constellation Pharmaceuticals, Irina held various positions at Pfizer. Irina served as the Director of Biology, where they drove the strategy and direction of research programs developed in partnership with academic investigators. Irina also led multidisciplinary translational and development research teams and reviewed research proposals from academic medical centers. Additionally, they worked as an Associate Research Fellow and a Senior Principal Scientist at Pfizer.

Before joining Pfizer, Irina worked at Tolerx, Inc. as a Principal Scientist, where they identified and characterized the mechanism of action of immunostimulatory monoclonal antibodies and studied the mechanism of action of Otelixizumab, a monoclonal antibody being evaluated for use in type 1 diabetes.

Irina Apostolou's education history begins in 1990 when they enrolled at Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) for their bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology & Genetics. Irina completed their undergraduate studies in 1994. Following that, from 1994 to 1996, they pursued a master's degree in Cellular & Molecular Genetics at the same university. Irina then proceeded to pursue a PhD in Genetics and Immunology at Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) from 1996 to 2000.
