Robert Lahey

Robert T. Lahey has a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. Robert T. has held roles as President and CEO of the Construction Safety Council since 2017, where they focus on expanding the organization's impact and securing funding sources. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Community Services and Education at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County from 2015 to 2017, overseeing the enhancement of programs and services for millions of visitors. From 2002 to 2015, they were the Executive Director of the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy, playing a crucial role in its growth and development. Before that, they served as the Executive Director of the West Central Municipal Conference from 1997 to 2002, where they managed staff and a budget to address public policy challenges in multiple communities. Robert T. also worked as the World Trade Division Director at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce from 1990 to 1997, and as an Economic Development Assistant in the Office of the Illinois Lieutenant Governor from 1986 to 1990. Throughout their career, Lahey has demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to enhancing organizations and serving diverse stakeholders.

Robert T. Lahey has a strong educational background, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science earned from Northwestern University between 1982 and 1986. Recognizing the importance of furthering their education, they attended Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business and Marketing from 1991 to 1993.
