Zakir Tnimov

Project Lead at Constructive Bio

Zakir Tnimov has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Zakir is currently working as a Project Lead at Constructive Bio, starting in September 2022. Prior to this, they were a Career Development Fellow at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) from March 2016 to September 2022. Zakir also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Karolinska Institutet from January 2015 to February 2016. Before that, they were a Research Officer at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland from February 2013 to January 2015, where they focused on the development of new techniques for protein expression studies. Zakir also completed their PhD in Molecular Physiology, first at the Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology, Dortmund, Germany from August 2007 to September 2008, and then at the Institute of Protein Research from September 2003 to May 2005. During their PhD, they studied the molecular details of Rho GTPase regulation and formulated a thermodynamically sound model of RhoGDI-mediated regulation of Rho proteins in the cell.

Zakir Tnimov's education history begins with their time at Udmurt State University, where they pursued a Specialist degree in Biochemistry from 2000 to 2005. After completing their undergraduate studies, they went on to attend Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU)from 2005 to 2007, where they pursued a Master's degree in Biology. Finally, they attended The University of Queensland from 2009 to 2013, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Biology.
