Richard Trumka Jr.

Richard Trumka Jr. currently serves as a Commissioner at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission since December 2021. Previously, Trumka held the position of General Counsel and Staff Director for the Economic and Consumer Policy Subcommittee of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform from March 2019 to December 2021. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General from October 2015 to March 2019, and as an Associate at Steptoe & Johnson LLP from August 2010 to October 2015. Trumka began a legal career as a Clerk for the Honorable Berle Schiller at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from August 2009 to August 2010. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law (JD) from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
