Christopher T. Fultz

Christopher (Chris) Fultz is vice president of gas operations for Consumers Energy. He was named to this position in 2022. Fultz is responsible for gas storage, compression, transmission, distribution, and the integrity of the company's gas system.

Previously, Fultz served as executive director of gas transmission, storage and compression. In this role, he led a multidisciplinary operations team comprised of union and nonunion employees who supported gas transmission, storage, compression, and metering and regulation infrastructure. He partnered with the company’s union workforce to deliver a data-driven, people-first approach to help boost safety performance. Fultz also oversaw capital construction and asset reliability programs that included well rehabilitation, pipeline integrity and city gate expansions.

Fultz joined Consumers Energy in 2014 as a project manager supporting electric infrastructure and large customer projects. He has since held increasingly responsible leadership roles supporting energy delivery, natural gas and electric operations and enterprise project management.

Previously, Fultz served as renewable energy business development manager with Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Black & Veatch. He began his Black & Veatch career as a high-voltage substation electric design engineer and held several engineering and management roles.

Fultz earned an executive master’s degree in business administration from Oakland University. He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering with concentration in power systems, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, from Michigan Technological University.
