Jay Patel has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and engineering. Jay started their career as a Linux Administrator at Allure Softtech in 2014, where they conducted virtualization setup and maintenance using VMware. Jay provided support for web development, system integration, and performed ongoing monitoring using Nagios.

In 2016, Jay moved on to work as an AWS Consultant at BeCreative 360. Here, they designed and developed solutions for hosting websites on AWS. Jay created AWS Cloud Formation templates and managed local deployments in Kubernetes.

The same year, they also worked as an AWS DevOps Engineer at Sparkling Jewels USA, where they developed end-to-end solutions for hosting web applications on AWS. Jay designed a new Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and set up necessary resources using CloudFormation.

From 2018 to the present, Jay has been employed at GoBankingRates. Jay started as a Platform Engineer and worked collaboratively with software and platform engineers to build and support various AWS services. Jay built serverless microservices using CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, Step Function, and DynamoDB. Jay also managed Kubernetes infrastructure.

Jay quickly progressed to the role of Senior Platform Engineer at GoBankingRates. In this role, they led platform efforts to implement MLOps for Machine Learning services and designed a multi-region serverless architecture for better resilience and performance. Jay also led engineering efforts to migrate legacy applications to docker containers running on Amazon EKS.

Currently, Jay holds the position of Lead Platform Engineer at GoBankingRates. Jay is responsible for leading the platform roadmap, driving cross-squad initiatives, and integrating DataDog to improve visibility and performance.

Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the same institution, graduating in 2014.
