Philip Dowie

Philip Dowie has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Philip currently serves as the Lead Cloud Engineer at Contact Energy Ltd, a position they have held since October 2020. Prior to this, Philip was the Director at BAF Technologies Limited, starting in December 2001.

Philip'sprevious roles include Solution Designer at Transpower New Zealand from April 2019 to June 2020, and Specialist Lead at Deloitte New Zealand from May 2018 to April 2019. Before that, they worked as a Cloud Architect at API Talent from August 2015 to April 2018.

Philip also had experience as a Contract Software Developer at Bank of New Zealand from December 2013 to June 2015, Senior Java Developer (Contract) at Ministry of Social Development from December 2011 to November 2013, and Java Developer at Fujitsu from March 2010 to December 2011.

Philip'searlier roles include System Administrator at Integration Works from April 2006 to December 2009, and Software Developer at IRD from August 2007 to June 2009.

Throughout their career, Philip has gained expertise in various areas, including AWS solutions, cloud architecture, Java development, and system administration. Philip has also earned certifications such as AWS Solution Architecture (Professional) and Associate Solution Architect.

Philip Dowie obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington. Philip attended the university from 2001 to 2006, during which they completed their undergraduate education in the field of Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, Philip has also obtained the certification of AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional from Amazon Web Services in December 2018.
