Melissa Matias has a diverse range of work experience in product design, data visualization, and UX/UI. Melissa is currently working at Contentsquare as a Senior Product Designer & DataViz Expert, driving complex design projects. Prior to this, Melissa worked at Zurich Insurance Company as a Senior Product Designer and UX/UI Lead, focusing on data visualization and analytics. Melissa also worked as a UX/UI Lead & Product Consultant for Boehringer Ingelheim, where they led strategy and research activities for improving user experience. Melissa has extensive experience in data visualization, having worked as a Product Designer and UX/UI Lead at Netquest, where they created visualizations and data stories for various research projects. Melissa also served as a UX/UI & Data Visualization Mentor at LIQUID - Agency, guiding startups in creating dashboards and visualizations. Melissa's earlier experience includes teaching and research roles at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru and creative roles at Arkimagen S.A, Community Partners S.L & Valeo Services, Grupo Ucal - Toulouse, and McCANN WORLDGROUP Spain. Throughout their career, Melissa has demonstrated a strong ability to use design thinking and research methods to solve complex problems and deliver enjoyable user experiences.
Melissa Matias's education history is as follows:
Melissa obtained a Master's degree in Design and Communication from the University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona. Melissa attended this institution between 2014 and 2015, focusing their studies on design, innovation, and research.
In 2017, Melissa pursued another Master's degree in Information Design and Data Visualization at BAU, Centre Universitari d'Arts i Disseny. Melissa'sfield of study during this period was UX/UI and design data. Melissa completed their studies in 2018.
Prior to these Master's degrees, Melissa earned a Bachelor's Degree of Education for Development at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Melissa studied pedagogy from 2013 to 2014.
Before their educational focus shifted towards pedagogy, Melissa obtained a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Melissa'sstudies in visual art spanned from 2004 to 2010.
Additionally, Melissa has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. These include certifications in web accessibility basics from Contentsquare (obtained in July 2022), product management from AllWomen (obtained in September 2021), and Tableau advanced developer from ClearPeaks (obtained in May 2019). Furthermore, Melissa has obtained certifications in various design-related topics such as After Effects, 3D design, motion graphics, corporate and digital illustration, and UX/UI and mobile/desktop design from Domestika (obtained in December 2018). Lastly, Melissa received a certification in human-centered design from IDEO.org in July 2017.
