Sokeara Sanford

Sokeara Sanford has held various roles in the professional and academic world since 2018. In 2018, they served as a Marketing Intern at Westerly Education Center, where they facilitated interviews with top politicians in the state of Rhode Island, compiled film clips into collective informational projects for promotion purposes, and worked closely with the Director of Marketing. In 2019, they held three roles: Presidential Scholar at the University of Richmond, Political Science Department Assistant, and Undergraduate Political Science Research Fellow. As a Research Fellow, they conducted research surrounding political party organizations on the national level, completed in-depth readings and analyzed previous works from past scholars and politicians, and produced a final research paper on the roots of abortion rights in contemporary politics. In 2017, Sokeara worked as a Barista at Felicia's Coffee. In 2019, they served as a Hostess Server at Simpatico Jamestown. In 2021, Sokeara was a State Library Fellow at the Rhode Island Department of State, where they operated Bookeye 4 V1A machine and Batch Scan Wizard software to digitally scan Rhode Island Public Laws books into PDF files, utilized ABBYY FineReader OCR software to convert files into searchable PDFs with matching text layer, and worked alongside three coworkers in collectively digitizing RI Public Laws books, cataloging, and uploading to Preservica to be accessible to the public through RI Secretary of State's official website. Sokeara also served as a Campus Ambassador at Morning Brew in 2021. Sokeara is currently a Research Analyst at Context Labs BV, a role they have held since 2022, and they are also a Co-Founder of Hearts That Help, a role they have held since 2003.

Sokeara Sanford attended North Kingstown Sr. High School from 2015 to 2019. Sokeara then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership Studies and Political Science at the University of Richmond, graduating in 2023.
