Job description

Chicago’s leading electrical contractor has an exciting opportunity available in Oak Brook.  The Project Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to electrical construction project teams that are managing large commercial projects.  The role requires someone with proactive self-motivation who can satisfy the demands of several project managers and internal colleagues while meeting multiple deadlines.

What you’ll do:

  • Create monthly client billing

  • Process material requisitions and change orders; set up time and material tickets

  • Manage certified payroll and review labor for billing

  • Provide certificates of insurance

  • Maintain projects in our software; job creation, change order entry

  • Audit (confirm accuracy/look for mistakes) project information

  • Arrange meetings, travel, events

  • Track estimating opportunities, including logging bids, creating bid folders, and updating Building Connected

What you’ll need for success:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree a plus

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a project coordinator or similar capacity; construction industry experience desired

  • Proficiency in MS Office:

    • Formatting and letter production in Word
    • Creating and modifying formulas (including “if” formulas), formatting (including wrapping and merging cells) in Excel
    • Scheduling meetings and tracking attendance in Outlook
  • Proficiency in math

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize changing tasks

  • Strong customer-service orientation and interpersonal skills

  • Accountability, initiative, creativity, and proactivity

  • Flawless grammar and spelling
