Joachim Kupe is an experienced engineering leader in the automotive and powertrain sectors, currently serving as the Head of Systems Engineering and Head of R&D for Mildhybrid eDrives and Battery segments at Continental since February 2017. Kupe has a strong background in hybrid electric vehicle development, overseeing system engineers and managing the entire product life cycle for HEV products. Prior to Continental, Kupe held the position of Director of Advanced Systems Engineering at Cummins Inc., leading cross-functional teams in the electrification of transportation. At Delphi, various roles as Chief Engineer involved pioneering new powertrain components, advanced fuel processors, and exhaust aftertreatment systems. Kupe began a career at General Motors, where engineering management in Europe encompassed advanced powertrain technology and exhaust aftertreatment projects. An alumnus of RWTH Aachen University, Kupe earned a Doctorate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
