Louis Peperzak is a seasoned plankton specialist and researcher with extensive experience in the field of marine ecology. Currently serving at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research since March 2016, Louis also holds a dual role as a ballast water specialist and Director at Control Union since 2010. As an Associate Editor for the Journal of Sea Research since October 2015, Louis manages the review process for manuscripts focused on algal and plankton ecology. Louis has a background in postdoctoral research at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and various other institutions, contributing to projects ranging from phytoplankton physiology to the impacts of pollution on marine ecosystems. With a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Natural Sciences from the University of Groningen, Louis's expertise includes flow cytometry, statistical analysis, and the management of harmful algal monitoring programs.
