Gudni Thor Bjornsson

Gudni Thor Bjornsson has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Gudni Thor is currently working at Controlant as the Director of Customer Solution Architecture, leading a team of solutions architects. In this role, they focus on customer communications and translating business requirements into technical requirements for engineering. Prior to this, Gudni worked at Meniga, where they held multiple roles. Gudni Thor started as a Technical Lead in 2017 and then transitioned to become a Senior Solutions Architect in 2018. In 2021, they became the Presales Manager, responsible for managing pre-sales activity and aligning with different departments to present the company's vision to prospects. Gudni's earliest work experience was at Marorka, where they worked as a Software Developer and later became a Team Lead, overseeing a team of developers in Romania working on an online data gathering and visualization platform for analyzing OPEX and energy efficiency in container vessels and bulk carriers.

Gudni Thor Bjornsson completed their education at multiple institutions. Gudni Thor obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Software Engineering from Háskóli Íslands - University of Iceland in the years 2012-2015. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the same institution in 2011-2012. Gudni Thor also attended Menntaskólinn á Akureyri from 2007 to 2011 as a student in the field of Náttúrufræðibraut. In addition to their formal education, Gudni Thor Bjornsson has earned a certification as a Certified Project Management Associate IPMA Level D from IPMA: International Project Management Association in April 2017.
