P.geo. David Thompson

David Thompson, P.Geo. has extensive work experience in the field of geology. David is currently serving as the Chief Geologist at Conuma Resources since June 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the VP Operations Canada at Pacific American Coal Limited from August 2019 to April 2020.

From May 2014 to July 2019, Thompson served as the Chief Geologist at North Coal, where they played a crucial role in geology-related activities. David briefly worked as a Senior Geologist Contractor at Century Wireline Services in April 2014.

In November 2013, Thompson joined Norwest Corporation as a Senior Geologist, contributing their expertise until February 2014. David served as the Resource Manager at Cardero Resource Corp from August 2012 to August 2013.

Prior to these roles, they held the position of Exploration Manager, Peace River Coal at Anglo American from May 2011 to August 2012. Thompson began their career in the mining industry as a Senior Geologist at Peace River Coal in November 2006, where they focused on production geology and coal recovery, along with exploration and modeling of coal deposits.

Thompson has also worked as a Senior Geologist at NEMI - Northern Energy and Mining Inc. from May 2006 to April 2007. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Science Teacher at Vancouver College from August 1991 to June 2006.

David Thompson, P.Geo. obtained a B.Sc. in Geological Sciences from The University of British Columbia in the years 1982 to 1986. Following that, they pursued a B.Ed. in Secondary Education and Teaching from The University of British Columbia from 1990 to 1991.

In terms of additional certifications, David Thompson, P.Geo. obtained their Professional Geoscientist certification from Engineers and Geoscientists BC in July 2006.
