Valerie Ritzinger

Valerie Ritzinger has extensive work experience in the compliance and banking industry. Valerie is currently working as the Global Head of Markets Compliance, Ethics, and ESG at Convera since July 2023. Prior to this, Valerie held the position of Global Head of Markets Compliance at Western Union from November 2020 to July 2023. Before that, they served as the Head of Group Securities Compliance at Erste Group Bank AG from April 2020 to November 2020. Valerie has also worked at Western Union in various roles, including Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (Western Union International Bank) from November 2018 to April 2020, Director and Head of Markets Compliance from February 2018 to April 2020, Senior Manager in AML and Bank Compliance from October 2016 to February 2018, and Manager in AML and Bank Compliance from November 2011 to September 2016, where they managed the framework and teams covering AML/CFT and Markets Compliance for various products. Before joining Western Union, they worked at FMA Finanzmarktaufsicht Österreich from October 2008 to October 2011, where they were part of the Department for Markets and Exchange Supervision/Supervision of Investment Firms.

Valerie Ritzinger attended Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz from 2001 to 2007, where they obtained a Magister degree in Wirtschaftswissenschaften. Additionally, they studied Rechtswissenschaften at the same university from 2003 to 2008, earning another Magister degree.
