Bioinformatics Data Scientist at Convergent Genomics

Christian R. began their career in 1986 as the Founder and President of Samsa Soft. In 1996, they became a Physician Researcher at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU). In 1997, they took on a Postdoctoral Research Fellow role at Stanford University School of Medicine. In 2001, they became a Bioinformatics Scientist at Zyomyx. In 2005, they founded and became President of Sipcall. In 2008, they were appointed Director of Service Platforms at Droplet Technology. In 2010, they became an Advisor at Kivalia and an Independent Consultant. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Bioinformatics Staff Engineer at Maverix Biomics. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have been a Bioinformatics Data Scientist at Convergent Genomics, where they have developed a Liquid Biopsy Platform for Urogenital Metagenomics and Cancer Detection, and implemented workflows for UMI based somatic variant calling and microbial DNA detection.

Christian R. completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine from 1997 to 2001, where they studied Human Genetics, Bioinformatics, and Cancer Research. Prior to that, they obtained an MD and PhD (Dr. med.) from Kiel University from 1988 to 1995, where they studied Medicine.
