Sydney Shea

Sydney Shea has a diverse work experience in various roles related to design. Sydney started their career at New Directions Housing Corporation as a Repair Affair Intern, where they were responsible for drawing site maps and coordinating repair work for elderly and low-income clients. Sydney then worked as a Publicity Manager at The Yale Gilbert & Sullivan Society, designing programs and posters for their shows.

Sydney went on to work at Blue State Coffee as a Graphic Designer, designing promotional materials and packaging. Sydney also served as the Design Editor and later the Editor-in-Chief at The Yale Record, where they managed the content creation and production cycle for the college humor magazine.

Afterward, Sydney joined Yale Baroque Opera Project as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Team Member, where they designed publicity materials and improved the website's appearance and functionality.

Sydney then transitioned to the role of Product Designer at Mental Canvas, a three-dimensional sketching platform. Sydney was the sole design hire for the team and played a crucial role in securing funding for the company.

In 2019, Sydney joined Aptible as a Product Designer and later became a Senior Product Designer. Sydney designed their flagship Rooms product and contributed to the overall growth and culture of the company. Sydney also excelled in managing and mentoring other designers within the team.

Currently, Sydney is the Head of Design at Conveyor, a company that facilitates vendor security reviews for B2B SaaS companies. In this role, they have been instrumental in creating a company vision and strategy through customer research and discovery.

Throughout their career, Sydney has demonstrated strong leadership skills, the ability to facilitate collaboration, and a keen eye for design.

Sydney Shea earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Yale University, completing their studies from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, they obtained a certification in UX to UI Design from Adobe Education Exchange in 2016.
