Amber M. has extensive work experience in the legal field. Amber started their career in 1999 as an Associate Attorney at Peoples Law Office, specializing in criminal defense and civil rights law. Their focus was on cases involving police misconduct. In 2005, they joined the Cook County Public Defender's office as an Assistant Public Defender. Amber worked in various roles within the office, including Assistant Public Defender, Assistant Public Defender Supervisor, and currently as Chief. Their expertise in public defense and their dedication to serving the community make their a valuable asset in the legal field.

Amber M. obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and International Economics from DePaul University in the years 1990 to 1994. Later, they enrolled at Northeastern University School of Law, where they pursued a Doctor of Law degree (JD) from 1996 to 1999.
