North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.

POSITION PURPOSE:

North Wind Site Services, LLC is seeking a qualified GIS Analyst II to support a U.S Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client in Washington, D.C. Due to client location, preference will be given to candidates in the Washington, D.C. region; however, other highly qualified candidates may also be considered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update geospatial data.
  • Complete mapping requests.
  • Help create and maintain ArcGIS Online/eGIS Portal content.
  • Report on metrics and analyses.
  • Attend client meetings.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Other related duties assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Geographic Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • 1-5 years' experience (Master's degree can be substituted for experience).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience using Esri's ArcGIS software suite to manipulate, convert, analyze, and map geospatial data.
  • Advanced mapmaking skills and the ability to understand client needs and decide how best to display GIS data.
  • Strong data management skills, including the ability to efficiently integrate large amounts of GIS data into pre-defined schemas.
  • High proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and experience creating content in ArcGIS Online/eGIS Portal, including hosted features, Web Apps, Dashboards, and StoryMaps.
  • The candidate must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to independently balance multiple project priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance from project manager and GIS technical lead.

Special Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must pass a DHS background investigation to gain clearance to access potentially sensitive data.
  • Mus pass a pre-employment drug testing.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience executing GIS deliverables for clients or other prior consulting experience is preferred.
  • Basic scripting skills (Python, SQL, Arcade, ModelBuilder, etc.) are also preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work may include long days (10 hours) occasionally to meet contract deliverables.
  • Remote work computer will need to be setup by the candidate after IT has configured it.
  • Sitting at a computer for multiple hours to perform daily work.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Most of the work will be performed remotely, with regular visits to the client site in Washington, D.C occurring as needed and occasional out-of-state travel for larger client meetings. Company interaction will be performed through MS-Teams.
